Can West Marin Feed Itself?

Marin Carbon Project

Community Garden in Inverness: If you’re interested in donating work for preparing the garden or money for garden supplies, please contact Alden: alden.adkins at hotmail dot com.

Food Gleaning Project: Marnie Jackson has requested that anyone with extra fruit from their trees call her and she will pick it up to deliver to the food bank. She is also looking for volunteers to help her with the gleaning. She has so much to glean that she could use a crew of people. So come out and help make use of perfectly good food that will otherwise go to waste!! Contact her at marniejkson at gmail dot com or 662. 1050.

West Marin Bees, a ning site,  is busy sharing information for West Marin beekeepers or those interested in beekeeping.

  1. Hi everyone- trees are starting to produce peaches, plums and nectarines. If you have surplus please call and I can take it to the food bank!
    Thanks Marnie 662 1050

  2. I have land for free, (2 acres with water) if its for a heifer dairy cow and or a small flock of tame sheep. I’m better w/ phone. If anyones interested call Marnie 662 1050.

  3. Home Depot and Lowe’s and probably others are open to giving donations of materials to community projects. They have programs in place for this kind of help. Give em’ a call with your needs list, ie. fencing, seeds, tools, plants, fruit trees, put your fantasy on paper and find out how to approach them for a request. I can help if you need it. 4. We have just had our first meeting about our cow share. We are buying a Jersey cow and milking her for milk, cheese, cream, ice cream, and butter. Call 662 1050 if interested
